Our Creative Community

The Sevenoaks District Partnership Group has received a 2 year grant to work with the local community to make it a better place for everyone. We are working with adult education, the library service, the volunteer bureau and many other community services to make sure people with learning difficulties can be included just like everybody else. We are telling our local council what is needed in our towns and villages by contributing to the Sevenoaks District Community Plan.

As part of the project we are helping people to develop their person centred plans. People with learning difficulties will be making a video based on their hopes, dreams and ambitions. An ambition is something that you would really like to do. The video will be launched next year with local councillors, leaders of our faith communities, heads of business and local community organisations.

We are supporting people to develop a circle of friends. This is a group of people who a person knows and trusts that help them achieve their goals. We will be launching some new materials in the autumn to help people make a start. We will put details of this on our web site as soon as they are available.
